Loving my stay on this site. Very quiet and friendly. The owner is passionate about getting everything just right and can't do enough to make sure you enjoy your stay.Great site, great views, great people with a great owner. What more do you want ?, the biggest plus is the price, every night is a bargain night.
Lovely quiet little site, owners are really nice and friendly. Definitely need a torch if venturing out after dark without a car.
Great location but that's it! Have camped all over the UK for quite a number of years, I was appalled at the hygiene in the "newly renovated" toilet block. It was filthy for 2 days out of 3, toilet paper was non existent on two consecutive days in one or other of the TWO ladies toilets that were supposed to service a full camp site (at least 50+ pitches). The shower I refused to use and 'made do' for 3 nights. If I had visited the toilet facilities prior to putting the tent up, I would have left and found another site. The water had major pressure problems in both the toilet and washing up facilities. Two washing up sinks, one drainer and one hot water tap that did not work, plus a grubby unit and area. I actually popped my last nights washing up in my empty cool box and brought them home to wash.Thankfully the field we were in was quieter than the other one which looked like you could share tent pegs with your neighbours. 9pm noise restriction was not enforced as very large party opposite us for our last night was heard until at least 1130pm. This is not a problem but when you respect "rules", shouldn't others too??Car battery had gone flat when we'd finally packed up in the pouring rain, my husband asked the owners for jump leads, which were handed to him but no offer of help......we had to ask a fellow camper to jump start from their vehicle. Would not recommend and will not return.
Perfect back to basics traditional campsite. If you're looking for a good site to turn up and pitch your tent and relax this place is perfect - if however you want somewhere with lots of facilities and entertainments then look elsewhere.A few people have said that there aren't enough showers or toilets but we had no problems with queues in early August.Highly recommended and we're already looking forwards to our next trip.
Hmmm. Stayed here for a weekend in late June. The owners said they are looking to have their site listed or registered but on the evidence of this weekends visit, they need to invest significantly to do so. A full site, with 50 or more units on site - thats a lot of people using 2 toilets and 1 shower per sex, all crammed into a converted garage attached to the owners house. Outside, two sinks for wash up. This means there arent enough facilities by some margin for the bookings they are prepared to accept; long queues - and often. Further, there were enormous water pressure issues at both the wash-up sinks and in the showers. The site sells shower facilities and yet the cubicles were not clean and were also hazardous - the shower I took reached 57 deg Centigrade at one point, often 50 degrees and then also cold. There are no signs to alert users to this yet the owner said he was aware of the problem. Would not have wanted my children to have showered. A further factor is that these facilities are at the house - a long walk for many customers, there and back of course.I went to talk to the owners about the showers but the reception is also their dining room and they were having breakfast. There are many notices around for campers to remember to do this and not do that, too (kind of like a 60s guest house). Overall, we didnt get the sense that the owners quite understand customer service, despite being very nice people in person. So, for this site to be one to recommend to others wed say developing the facilities significantly has to be a priority, along with sorting out the major water pressure problems.
