Love Port Meadow! Great place to take dogs if they're learning to swim as no high banks. Must have good recall though as there are cattle and horses around.
Port meadow is a wonderful place to walk and is enjoyed by many people whether they are just taking an afternoon stroll, walking their dog or going for a family walk. There are a few pubs nearby so often you find people have lunch at one of those then walk it off over the meadow. If it has been raining a lot or snowing then the ground underfoot can be messy but you are usually ok of you stick to the main paths. You can reach Oxford city centre, Jericho, Wolvercote and Osney from Port meadow. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy walking.
Always a great place to walk. Especially on a bright winters day.
Was a decent park but no adequate footpaths so expect to get dirty. Try avoiding the minefield of horse and dog excrement planted all over. Free parking, plenty of pot holes and one working toilet.
Get up close and personal with friendly wild horses! AMAZING! Be cautious if you bring food-- they will find it!
