Unbelievable. The place is half empty we 've had a few drinks and they say we've had to many lol. What a joke . Don't come here if you want a drink.....miserable people
Refused entry due to not taking a fully legal Norwegian identification card, told that "we do not accept non UK IDs". When explained that the Norwegian ID card is completely legal and the only form of their ID, both manager and guard got extremely aggressive and when explained that it's from an EEA/EU country and they should be trained to know how to identify international IDs, manager got extremely rude and replied with "now you are being aggressive so we won't let you in anyways".Having both a guard and the manager being extremely confrontational especially after being explained how it works as well as being shown proof of the legalities of the ID and where the birthday is on the ID, is extremely disconcerting and especially horrible when they raise their voice at myself and expect me to act towards them with the respect they clearly lacked towards me. I do not recommend this place at all
Went here today. Wasnt a great experience. Waited to be seen to at our table, had to go to bar to be acknowledged (waiter eventually found me there) people walked out after waiting 30 mins to be served at bar (after waiting at their table) to then be told they wouldve been served at table, they were very unhappy! And then people next to us waited 15 mins for bill theyd asked for to then have to go to bar and pay.We go to all bar one in Windsor where the service is amazing, youre seen too and looked after. The Oxford branch is cold and empty (no doubt due to terrible service) I dont blame the waiters, they were nice. I blame the disgraceful management (go to Windsor and youll learn a lot regarding how to successfully manage a bar/restaurant). Would NOT recommend Oxfords AB1.Shame.
Spacey, good for big and small groups with average prices. The served main meal is inadequate 3/5 stars, followed by double the amount of deserts 5/5 stars. Service 4/5 stars, we have booked from 5pm but they didn't let me have my chair until 06:30 as had to wait for the person who did the booking. All employees were kind and polite apart from one guy was enough to ruin my first couple of hours 'social skills comes first hence my advice to make this place glorious!'Tip: you need to book your food before coming to have a fast service.
Not brilliant.Came here on a Sunday evening after dinner elsewhere.The barman was very nice and polite, cocktails for 5 each so cant complain about price!Young woman working was quite abrupt. Told that we couldnt sit somewhere as it was closed off. Not a problem, thats fair enough. Then we went to sit on a table near some other patrons, near the back. But told that we must sit near the front. Odd considering that there were at least two other groups sat even further back.Some women came in around 9:25 and told that they couldnt have a drink as the bar was closed.Equally, multiple noisy bins of rubbish were pushed right past our table to be taken outside. This is not something you want whilst having a cocktail.At 9:30ish we were told Were closing in 10 minutes, when the bars closing time was 10:00. Not 9:40.Overall, we felt very rushed out, and not welcomed. The drinks were cheap and the barman was nice.
