Absolute legends. My MacBook was fried and they (1) completely fixed it, (2) convinced Apple not to charge me (even though the warranty was Australian!) and (3) did it all within two business days.
My recent visit was due to my laptop having issues, the staff there were super friendly and wanted to help as much as they could, but as every business, they need to make money. To inspect your device for any faults theyll charge you, so I decided to go directly to apple, and that was the way to go. Apple store directly are was more experienced and the problem I had was fixed in minutes, whereas when I took it to western computer they didnt even know what was wrong with my device. Also apple didnt charge me anything even though my laptop was out of warranty by 3 years. So if you have an issue with your apple device, Id advice you find the nearest apple store to you, youre better off that way saving yourself time and money.
I bought an Apple product here and the only thing I did was opening the outermost box. I had never touched the packing wrap on the product itself. I had never turned it on or connected it to anything else. They refused my return request on the third day after the purchase only because I opened the outer box. Whats worse was the attitude of the store manager. I was surprised how arrogant and rude she was. She seemed not to care about the customers at all and I honestly dont think she is suitable for this job.If you want to buy an Apple product, avoid Western Computer. The best way is to buy it directly from Apple, either on their official website or in their official stores. You pay the exact same price but will have the best return and warranty policies. You can not only open the box, but also put the actual product in daily use to see if you like it. If not, simply return it within 14 days with no questions asked. Other options better than Western Computer include Amazon and the Apple counter inside John Lewis at Westgate Oxford. Before Apple became as big as today, Apple Premium Resellers like Western Computer made sense as they served Apple customers in smaller cities who had no direct access to Apple. Now with Apple itself expanding rapidly and online shopping getting so convenient, from a customers point of view, there are fewer reasons for Premium Resellers to exist anymore. Since they have no price advantage, the quality of service becomes the key to survive. However, what Western Computer Oxford did is combining the worst ever sales policy with a terrible service attitude.
Absolutely fantastic, amazing, wonderful, helpful and fully informative service to get new laptop in 24 hours, all set up, migrated and all with such great helpful, engaging help from Charlie Smith. Way beyond my expectations. Well done and thanks sooooooo much.
Beware that this shop doesn't offer the same return policy as in an Apple store. Return policy is only possible based on hardware issue that can be replicated in life within the 30 days after having bought the item. Replicating life a default is not always possible, so be sure of what you are buying as there is little chance you will be able to return it and you will get stuck with your product. I am most of the time supportive of small businesses but their return policy and attitude is really discriminating their customers. If you can afford to go to an Apple store you will receive benefit from a better return policy.
