Pretty good atmospheric old pub with proper stink of drink. Drink selection is fairly good and classic pub grub dishes available. The main thing about this place is that you have to go through an alley to get to it, one of those places you bring visitors too, always make an impression.
Went here last night and was not disappointed. I felt like I'd barely sat down after ordering dinner from the bar, and our order of meat pie and sausages and mash were brought out. The place is a little hard to find but that just adds to the charm.
Lovely! But very cramped. Had to pounce on a table to get seated. Can't make bookings either... Was very different to what our party where used to. But food was lovely and staff helpful :)
Experienced appalling service yesterday regarding questions I had about allergens on the menu. The staff knew nothing about the menu, the allergens booklet failed to give a detailed breakdown of all the the consonants of the burger, and the man I spoke to who (I assume) is the manager was utterly rude and unhelpful, creating a scene in front of a bar full of people. Clearly these people lack any training on their food and are too lazy to find out the correct answer. If you are looking for gluten free or any other specialist meal, there is very little choice and I wouldnt trust the staff to know anything. Go elsewhere. Apart from that, the pub itself is great!
Lovely pub. Very popular. Good food n friendly staff. Cute location worth finding. Especially if your a Morse, Lewis, Endeavour or Harry Potter fan. Xx
