Good for swimming and sports, also have a snack bar
Terrible service received today at the Ferry Sports Centre. Was served by this lady called Leanne. I have been a member of the gym for more than 8 years and have never seen such behaviour. When I asked for a squash ball (which has always been provided free of charge, I played squash every week for the last 2 years and this has never been a problem), she asked first for 50p then increased it 1.50. I then explained to her that I have been provided of this free of charge for the last few years she raised her voice suddenly and said I was wrong. I then asked for a copy of the centre price-list for ball hire and policy, she was unable to provide one, with the reception computer right in front of her. Demonstrates an inadequate level of staff training. On the other hand, there is a male staff member called Alex who quickly de-escalated the situation and agreed to follow up on the matter. I was pleased to see at least not all staff members at this centre are as rude and unprofessional as Leanne.
Went for a volleyball match and the car Park charge we 6 for the 4 hours! Had we been any longer it went up significantly more than this. Also the sports hall ceiling wasn't really high enough. They also have a swimming pool and gym which looked ok
Called the centre at 3:15pm and was told the Learner's pool would be open until 8pm. Arrived at 3:40 but was told that it will be closed at 4pm. The daughter was very unhappy; then the staff said that she can continue swimming in the normal pool (but they did not tell us that it will be colder in the normal pool). My daughter end up with only swam 10 minutes.
Decent facilities with a very well equipped gym and a big pool. I've only been going for the last month but it never seems too crowded and I have had zero problems getting on any machine I need but I can't complain really as my discount scheme means I only pay 20 for unlimited use of the the pool and gym for a whole year! Fyi, you will not get membership this cheap so don't even ask (although you're welcome to be jealous of course!)
