Popped in to ask if I might borrow a chair for an elderly man on verge of collapse (falling down) on to pavement outside. You refused without scarce a thought, far less getting up to take a look and wonder whether you might help. *It could be your elderly friend or relative needing help next time.* At his age, falling down risks injury.. Please talk to your head office and try to keep in mind the bigger picture - for the role of your company beyond making sales for profit.. I trust your company has a policy about being charitable and caring about others, if not they should put such policy in place.. None of which stops the individual employee going 'out of their way' once in a while.Happily the Old Tom Pub was willing to lend me a chair, and so, after a 5 minute sit down to gather his strength, the elderly gentleman was able to continue unsteadily to his destination, without collapse nor ambulance call out. I don't know the man. He did not have the energy to thank or even to notice me.. which does not matter; I know that one day it could be me needing a little kindness from a stranger.
