Best deal in Oxford. This hotel was clean and nice. The owner is there and runs the hotel. He does a great job. It is on an easy bus route to city center. The breakfast is awsome. The location is good and safe. There is a market within 3 min walk.

Lovely buildings with character. Excellent service from a helpful manager with unusually good attention to detail. The rooms were large by UK standards, small by USA standards. Very clean, with a nice shower. While there was no air conditioning, there was a powerful fan, and let's be honest, it is England, so the weather rarely is warm.It is a 20-minute walk, but a beautiful one, to Magdalen college. I am 40, short, and fat, and I found the walk effortless and refreshing, with pretty buildings to look at.The breakfast was included with a large array of options, from the light and healthy to a traditional full English breakfast.Overall, a lovely experience.
No-nonsense, comfortable, clean, peaceful accommodation a short and frequent bus ride from Central Oxford. Breakfast was delicious.
This is a well run, conveniently situated guest house, close to the city centre (10 minute round trip bus trip costing 2.50 round trip) The Balkan Lodge provided excellent service, polite and efficient staff and was spotlessly clean throughout. Breakfast was top notch and plentiful, served with a smile, in a very pleasant dining room/small function . Full and continental included in the price of your hotel stay.Our twin room was OK but very cramped on space. Would have made a perfect single or double with just the one bed, but with two singles, it was a squeeze. There were also no windows except an odd skylight way up in the roof that came through a hole in the ceiling. If you suffer from claustrophobia, don't take room 6The price was a little high, for a guest house, at 85.00 but, we accepted that close to Christmas, accommodation prices are always inflated. Yes I would stay again, but not if something like Premier Inn came out at the same money.
